Our US client, is seeking a leader for their Product Development team. This team builds business-critical applications that support customers across the global food and beverage supply chain. They need a hands-on Software Engineering Manager for their Brazil Delivery Center to lead and grow a .NET development team. You will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing top talent, ensuring high performance and continuous professional growth.
Job Duties:
People & Delivery Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a remote team of full-stack software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development for team members.
- Partner with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and other global engineering teams to plan and deliver cloud features aligned with customer migration needs.
- Own delivery outcomes for the SaaS platform, ensuring predictable, high-quality releases and effective post–go-live support.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new engineers as the team continues to scale.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a SaaS application using the same tools and practices as the engineering team.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET/C# on Azure.
- Support front-end development using HTML and TypeScript.
- Review code, guide architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and performance requirements.
- Leverage AI-powered developer tools and assistants to improve code quality, reduce repetitive work, and accelerate delivery.
Engineering Excellence
- Promote best practices in software architecture, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring, logging, and operational readiness using tools such as Application Insights and Kusto.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and team workflows.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience developing SaaS applications.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing software engineers.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- .NET / C# for RESTful API development
- TypeScript / JavaScript and modern web application development
- SQL databases (Azure SQL or similar)
- Experience building and operating cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and secure application development.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead distributed, cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- YAML-based infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience using AI APIs or AI-assisted development tools (Cursor or similar).
