About The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and hands-on Director of Engineering to lead and grow a high-performing team in a manufacturing environment. This role will oversee NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineering functions while driving process optimization, operational excellence, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of 7–9 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Drive alignment between engineering initiatives and overall business objectives
- Oversee NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineering processes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Manage engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other teams to ensure clear communication and execution
- Establish metrics and KPIs to drive operational excellence and data-driven decision-making
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
- Provide technical leadership in cable and harness assembly processes (molding, shielding, termination)
- Lead design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and process optimization initiatives
Requirements
- Background in Aerospace or Electrical Components in general
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing engineering teams (NPI, tooling, manufacturing engineers)
- Strong background in process improvement and operational excellence
- Experience with ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on leadership approach
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in cable and harness assembly
- Knowledge of DFM and advanced manufacturing processes
- Background in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
