Our team builds Generative AIUX products that transform the way internal and external customers build new products using AWS services. AIUX is the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and User Experience. We are focused on the future of design driven development and democratizing innovation for all builders. We deliver a shared platform across multiple products in this space, and we work on AI-powered tools that use Design Systems to build interfaces, and accelerate design, development, and validation workflows.

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to join our team and lead our AIUX development team. We are developing innovative products that leverage generative and agentic AI to create simplified AWS onboarding and management experiences for AWS. This role offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of AI and UX, building new products and services from the ground up.

In this role, you will work closely with our product, design, and backend teams to manage the development of innovative 0-1 products. You will have the opportunity to influence the direction of our products and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key job responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead technical strategy and development of scalable solutions
  • Establish technical standards and best practices for the team
  • Drive adoption of emerging AI technologies and best practices in LLM orchestration
  • Evaluate and integrate new LLM models and prompt engineering techniques

Team Management:

  • Build and mentor a diverse team of software engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence
  • Provide technical guidance and career development support
  • Manage team performance and delivery timelines

Project & Product Management:

  • Work with product managers to define and execute team roadmaps
  • Align technical implementations with product requirements
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality solutions meeting performance standards
  • Drive operational excellence and system reliability
  • Set and track team goals and metrics

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure system scalability
  • Maintain high performance standards and monitoring
  • Manage high severity incidents and resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
  • Experience with emerging generative and agentic technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Knowledge of multi-agent orchestration and MCP integration
  • Experience with Bedrock, Kiro, or Claude a plus

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
