Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build massively scalable systems that are used by the world's largest cloud infrastructures? Would you enjoy broad yet equally deep scope that impacts all AWS systems globally? AWS EC2 Manufacturing Infrastructure Services(MIS) continues to pioneer and our team is architecting, building, and operating scalable services that are at the core of AWS manufacturing infrastructure for the Manufacturing Partners and delivery of our platforms.

What do we do?

We build and operate unified testing, validation, and diagnostic services at manufacturers that ensure every server and rack meets AWS quality and security standards before shipment—enabling rapid, safe scaling of AWS infrastructure globally while maintaining supply chain integrity throughout the hardware lifecycle. Our platform enables service owners such as EC2, EBS, S3, and others to deliver healthy servers for their service to the production. Our team leads a large-scale service that sets the bar for Amazon and the industry in platform level services, effectively enabling the hardware at scale by designing and developing the software that manages the verification and testing of every server in AWS.

Why it’s high-impact?

We set the bar high to ensure that AWS customers get the capacity they need to run their applications on a healthy hardware server within an SLA.

What’s the challenge?

There are many ambiguous and difficult challenges in our fast-moving space. Our platform is mission critical and requires deep system and software expertise. You need to have the ability to work within a fast moving and startup-like environment in a large company. You will identify solutions, trying ideas, given space to fail and iterate to produce products that your customers love.

As an SDM, you will have the opportunity to lead a team that builds, invents, evolves, scales, and maintains distributed software systems for AWS EC2 MIS. You lead the long-term strategy and solution to challenging technical and business problems for AWS EC2 MIS Foundational Services. The right candidate will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, working with other teams to build scalable solutions, and growing the career of your team of engineers. You should be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You understand mission critical services and obsess over customer experience. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, and build mechanisms to keep programs on track, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. It also includes working closely with PE's and TPM’s to help shape the customer experience.
