Opportunity for Impact
This is an opportunity for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to ensure Algo capitalizes on the productivity, efficiency, and power that comes from an effective strategic technology vision. This includes developing the company’s technical strategy for using technological resources, positioning Algo’s technical strategies with our global client base, and managing, supervising, and governing the cloud computing environment and its operations within the business – from the initial cloud assessments to maintenance, deployment, and troubleshooting.
The CTO will ensure Algo has the technical business strategy to:
- Align existing business goals with cloud initiatives to gain competitive advantage through the use of cloud solutions
- Build, implement, and support data-intensive, high performance API-based cloud computing platforms
- Transform on-premise infrastructure into a private cloud and leverage cloud-ready platforms by:
- Mapping business workloads to cloud use cases
- Utilizing financial competency in cloud economics to advise business
- Implementing optimal cloud security policies
- Managing relationships with cloud service providers
- Gaining valuable insight on the activities within the cloud
- Optimizing network security and performance with regular cloud monitoring
- Deterring and managing potential incidents and outages
This role will ensure our IT and Product Delivery leads make the best business decisions regarding technology, such as IT equipment purchase and the creation of new systems with the goal of gaining a competitive advantage and future proofing our organization.
The CTO will ensure our Technical Leaders have the:
- Ability to make informed technical decisions based on many different aspects of Algo’s operations
- Garner the proper information needed to develop strong IT and Cloud strategies
- Discover new ways to ensure continuous growth through use of proper technologies
- Gain a competitive advantage by remaining current with technical trends
Qualifications
- Experience as a CCO, CTO or similar executive role in a global organization
- Recent experience at a start-up software company or in the cloud industry
- Deep understanding of cloud-based technologies and platforms
- Knowledge of Azure and AWS native stacks to lead and provide strategic architectural guidance to an Azure development team
- Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implications
- Ability to scope, budget and efficiently and effectively utilize available resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of IT security risks and mitigation strategies
- Experience managing Technology budgets and managing relationships with Cloud Service Providers
- Ability to effectively manage, develop and inspire global technology teams
- Technology degree with a Master’s degree in Business or Technical Specialization or equivalent experience
