Mission
Own the end-to-end system architecture for Valkyrie V0 → V1: autonomy stack, C2, interfaces, integration plan, and evidence-based test milestones.
What you’ll do
- Define modular architecture (MOSA): interfaces, message schema, hardware/software boundaries.
- Select/own the flight stack strategy (e.g., PX4/ArduPilot integration approach) and autonomy integration pattern.
- Build the integration roadmap: SITL → HITL → bench → controlled flight.
- Own technical risk register and “what breaks tomorrow” mitigation plans.
- Drive engineering execution cadence: weekly demos, test gates, and design reviews.
V0 deliverables (first 90 days)
- Architecture spec + interface control docs (ICDs)
- Integration plan + test plan (SITL/HITL included)
- Working demo: end-to-end command → autonomy behavior → telemetry/logging → replay
- V1-ready engineering plan + BoM assumptions
Must-have
- 8–15+ years systems engineering / robotics / autonomy
- Proven integration of flight control + autonomy + comms + telemetry
- Comfortable shipping prototypes under constraints (not “research forever”)
- Strong documentation discipline (ICDs, test gates, traceability)
Nice-to-have
- NATO/EU defense tech exposure, DO-178-ish safety thinking (even if not certified)
- Experience with swarms/mesh networking/C2 standards
