Aavalor Greentech is a shell-breaking startup redefining membrane technology. By integrating the extraordinary properties of graphene with the structural resilience of ceramic membranes, we are solving critical problems in the polymer dominated filtration industry.
We are looking for a highly driven CTO to lead our technical roadmap. You won’t just manage a team; you will be the architect of a technology that bridges the gap between lab-scale brilliance and industrial-scale impact.
The Role: Accountability & Impact
As our CTO, you are the technical heartbeat of the company. You will work in a high-bandwidth partnership with the CEO and COO to ensure our science is scalable, protected, and market-ready.
- Technical Architecture & Scale-Up
- Lead the transition from TRL 6 (Product Validation) to TRL 9 (Industrial Deployment).
- Optimize membrane development and testing to ensure world-class permeance and selectivity.
- Drive the design of our first 2026 pilot units, ensuring they meet rigorous industrial KPIs.
- IP & Strategic Moat
- In collaboration with the COO, identify patentable innovations and lead the technical drafting of IP filings.
- Maintain Aavalor’s competitive edge by staying ahead of global research.
- Leadership in a Lean Culture
- Mentor and lead our technical team.
- Foster a "Fail Fast, Learn Faster" lab culture—prioritizing data integrity, radical transparency, and agile iterations.
- Represent Aavalor’s technical vision to investors, strategic partners, and at major tech summits.
Who You Are
- The Expert: You have a solid technical background (PhD or MSc) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in ceramic membranes and/or graphene application in water tech.
- Industry Verticals: Ideally some experience in the Dairy industry or Data Center cooling/water-remediation or EPCs/OEMs in water sector is highly valued. Understanding the specific fouling challenges and regulatory requirements of these sectors will be a major asset.
- The Strategist: You understand that a great product is only useful if it’s manufacturable. You think in terms of "Cost per m³" and "System ROI."
- The Startup Soul: You are self-driven and thrive in the "beautiful chaos" of an early-stage company. You don’t wait for a manual; you write it.
- The Leader: You are a problem-solver who leads by example. You are as comfortable discussing complex technical issues as you are presenting a technical roadmap in a boardroom.
- Local Connection: Ideally, you are familiar with the Dutch/EU innovation ecosystem.
